Project Concept

Silent Revival is a collaborative project that aims to bring together dancers, musicians, visual artists and filmmakers from Wales, Greece and Bulgaria. The project draws inspiration from European films of the early silent period of movie making (1919-30). Using films from this era as a stimulus, Silent Revival will encourage artists to consider how early approaches to collaboration across artistic traditions and geographic borders can inspire current and future practice.

Silent Revival is devised and managed by Bambo Soyinka in association with The Greek Film Archive and InterSpace and with the support of the Arts Council of Wales, Wales Arts International and The British Council. Silent Revival is part of the British Council Creative Collaboration initiative.
